I’m Samantha, but you can call me Sam. I'm an Elopement & Portrait Photographer based in Hampton Roads, VA, although I LOVE shooting in new cities and states. I especially love the vast variety the east coast has to offer, from the beaches right in our backyard here in Virginia Beach to the Blue Ridge mountains and everything in between, we have it all! 

To be completely honest, ​at the beginning of my photography career often shied away from weddings. I felt like I was missing my creative spark when I shot large weddings, and for me I thrive in smaller settings (I’m guessing that you can relate if you’re eloping!). My business was founded on newborn and family photography, and these sessions still bring me so much joy. But I felt that something was missing in my photography journey. When I was shooting large weddings I LOVED getting to capture ceremonies and portraits with the couples during cocktail hour. It was during these times I witnessed the most sweet, silly, intimate and reflective moments. To just be a fly on the wall and observe their love story unfold in real time, to feel their emotions and be able to capture those feelings through photos is why I am so drawn to elopement and intimate wedding photography.

Eloping and intimate weddings takes the chaos, stress and let’s face it, $$$, out of big weddings and allows couples to be intentional with their choices and prioritize what really matters to them (if you are here hopefully that includes photography!) I fell in love with capturing love of all types and I want to help couples feel their most authentic best selves on such a pivotal day in their lives. Your love is not a cookie-cutter romance, lacking any real emotion and your wedding photos shouldn’t be either. I want to do your story justice. I believe that getting to really know my clients, observing who they are, and in return, them getting to know me, how I shoot and that I truly am a safe, relaxed space, helps encapsulate true emotions in photos. On your wedding day, you can let go of the stress, be yourselves, have fun and let me worry about the rest. No literally, I will worry about everything else and have back up plans on back up plans, ready to roll with whatever comes our way (Enneagram 6 to the rescue!!)
